Y is for Yummy Takeout

I've told my husband multiple times that if we ever move to a different city, what I'll miss most are the takeout options. There are so many options here! We have pizza, yes, but not just Domino's or Papa John's. We have several menus for local pizzerias where we can get pizza or pasta. I'm sure you've all seen TV shows or movies showing people eating Chinese takeout, which is so delicious. But on those nights that we're tired of Chinese, how about Japanese instead? Sushi delivered right to your door! Other options are burgers, wraps, Italian, milkshakes, Mexican food...oh the Mexican food. We order Mexican food almost every week - the restaurant we order from knows our apartment number by heart (to my delight but to the embarrassment of my husband).

What kind of food would you like most to have delivered right to your door?

  1. Since we live in a rural area I would love any kind of food delivered to my door. That is really a plus for living in the city. The options in NYC must be unbelievable.

  3. My husband would move there JUST so he could have sushi delivered to his door. We live in Minnesota and sushi is a little hard to find. It's his favorite and I think that would be a huge selling point. =)

    1. Oh yes. Personally, I can only handle the sissy California roll, but JP loves most sushi.

  5. I'm not big on carry out meals. Sometimes in the summer there's a service you can have meals delivered, which is nice after working in the yard. But, I find most meals aren't as good, because they're not hot enough by the time you get them.

    1. You know, while we have had issues with lukewarm meals a couple of times, they're surprisingly good at arriving with meals that are still hot - even when they're riding their bikes through the snow!

  6. When I lived in Edinburgh, Scotland, my favorite take out/delivery was Indian. Curry there is so incredibly delicious! Great, now I'm hungry :)

  7. I'm a traditionalist, so I'd have to say pizza. Preferably from one of the great Chicago pizzerias (Pizzeria Uno/Due, Connie's, Giordano's, etc.). We moved to Georgia from Chicago twenty-five years ago, and still haven't found a pizza we like...

    1. Ha! Yes, I'd say Georgia definitely has a smaller number of good pizzerias than Chicago!

  8. Those don't sound bad at all! I'm very picky about food and want quality, and in addition I'm coeliac. But I think my favourite is Indian. I'd love to have Mexican takeaway here though!

    1. We've definitely had to weed through places to find the more quality spots, but after a 10-hour workday I have to admit quality sometimes falls to the wayside.

  9. There are a few I wish would deliver. I'm an Indian, Chinese takeout lover. But I do love other foods. It's what happens when you have parents from to different ends of the world and live in a diverse country :-D

    1. True! A bit of diversity is great though - I'd say it makes you cultured. ;-)
